Cigar Box Guitar Tuning

There are many different ways in tunning these 3 strings Cigar Box Guitar, each of them with its own soul. My choice of tunning is E-B-E will resemble the regular guitar tunning sharing the top two strings, the bottom E string will double the top E.



The top E string (012)
middle B string (016)
bottom E string (022)

This tunning will read the same literature from all the guitars.

Since this guitar only have three strings, a fast re-tunning can be done easily. Other open tunning can be included in your repertoir in making music with the CBG.

some of these tunning are:

1. E-B-E (open E)

2. G-B-D (G triad)

3. G-B-E (E minor triad first inversion)

4. G-B-F (G dominat no 5th)
